GOOOOOOOOOD FRIDAY MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO you think Broadcast TV news (network and local casts) is
starting to smell like a week old Quarter Pounder your
kid left in the backseat of the SAAB? If
you said YES you might be right, but I bet you can't
guess why! Does this study speak the truth or is it
just another try to get more folks jobs in an
evolving news industry?

Hey are you a NEWS ANCHOR? "Uh NO but I play one
on the web!" This is kinda cool and it could
be a glance into the twisted future, check it out.

The head of the Environmental Protection Agency says he will investigate a threatening letter sent by the leader of an EPA-member group, vowing to "destroy" the career of a climate skeptic.

The Federal Communications Commission has no intention of reinstating the
FAIRNESS DOCTRINE!

Journal stock is down.

This is one of the three OUT OF TOWN
groups that owns a chunk of
radio stations in Knoxville.
I sure wish this industry would
come back to life to the
point where some LOCAL
heavy hitters would be
interested in bringing radio
ownership back to KNOXVILLE!

We have just added a feature to your right where you can VOTE
on certain pressing issues. As they say
in Chicago, vote early and vote OFTEN!

Did you see today where they BANNED smoking at UT
football games?

WAY BACK IN DA GOOD OLD DAYS of 1968
not only did we ALL smoke
but lord help if we didn't DRINK
at dem games also!

Back then we wore a coat and TIE to the homecoming
game..bought our HONEY (a name that was cool
at that time meaning date)
a giant white or orange flower and she wore a suit!
Schriver's used to make a blue blazer for students
that would hold a full PINT of Jack
in the inside pocket and few if
any of us walked into a gate without
a well dressed lady on our arm
and a clanking purse on her arm!

Later smoking at the game became a contact sport.
Yep, someone behind you would touch
the back of your neck with a glowing Winston
and the next thing you knew
your "date" was swinging her clanking bag
into the side of his or her head.
Naturally when it RAINED everyone smoked
under the umbrellas as the water ran
off them and into the crotch
of those seated behind you.

All that said, it is a good thing they have cut it out.
Today it can make you sick
(has to be in the paper) and also BROKE!
When they were 26 cents a pack
and you only dated gals that smoked your brand
(for bumming purposes) smoking was
a special part of "student" life.
Today it is just a nasty habit
that takes way too much beer money to fund.

WBIR has a good story about
the BANNING of smoking at UT games.

The Security Staff at the Rockford bunker has given
full clearance to two new members of the family circle.
Both are refugees from the Maryville Animal Center and
one is in dire need of a name.

YOUR assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The yet to be named family member
is said to be around
nine years old, a female
and has in just a few short days
endeared herself to all
members of the family unit.

The second new addition has been
named Taz by her western
cousin and although her
DNA does contain a high concentrate of
beagle there is also a trace
of Tasmanian Devil in her
make up.

We will be checking the
content box daily for names
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Good morning!

I like the new look to the media report. As for the dog, she is
just like one we had when we lived in
Kentucky. Her name was Nanna becasue she was always sleeping next to my grandmother's bed.

Don't name that dog something stupid!

She is a great looking old girl so pick something to fit her!

How about Margie?

If that yellow dog had a brain it would run away from you and your crazy right wing atitude!

We hate the look of your blog, you should have kept the fonts smaller so people didn't have to SEE your
stupid thoughts.

Smoking should be banned
everywhere. Big Tobacco is
as bad as Big oil.

I don't go to UT football
games because I think the
sport side of the university
is pushing learning deeper and deeper into its shadow.

Schools are not there for
sport, they are there for
learning!

Name her CP!

Why do you post false Neilson numbers? Is it just so you can leave Channel 6 out? What did that station ever do to you?

Can we have the TRUE numbers please?

Walker, I like the new font. Keep it for us old fogies.

THE GREAT CHANNEL 10/CHANNEL 6 NEWS CONTROVERSY!!!
Can you check into this? Starting on Wednesday, Judy 25th, and again during the 6pm news on Thursday, July 26th, WBIR and WATE are giving conflicting information on the shooting of the little girl in Oak Ridge. Channel 6 is still reporting that she is listed in critcal condition at U-T Hospital, but WBIR says she died and even listed funeral arrangements. 6 says that's what the hospital told them, but 10 says a member of the Oak Ridge Police told them she died. I don't know what to believe, but it's confusing. Is the girl dead or alive? Which station is reporting incorrect information? If this doesn't indicate problems at one of the stations, I don't know what will. Can you check on this and give us the true story?

BTW, the newspaper was also saying the same thing as 6.

And I still like the new larger font.

must be a 6 employee...just because the numbers don't fall your
way, they must be false..no doubt about it!!!...I've saw the TRUE numbers, and they're just the same as the ones posted here...Sorry to
burst your bubble...

As of 6am Friday morning, in the Great Channel 6/Channel 10 controversy, 6 has now amended its story that the little girl from Oak Ridge has died. 6 can get out of it by saying that's what the hospital officials said, but 10 gets the blue ribbon for getting the correct information on the air first. Still a tragic event.

And to make it even more curious, Channel 8's website says the little girl died at around 7pm Thursday, but Channel 10 definitely reported the funeral arrangements in its 6pm Thursday newscasts.

Perhaps a reporter with ESP?

Curiouser and curiouser.
