THE VOICE or VOICES?

A few weeks ago the
tabloid bureau of the
MR was told WATE Anchor
Lori Tucker would be joining
the cast of The Voice.
When they were ask in the 4 o clock
if they had confirmation on the
rumor they all muttered, started
lighting Winstons and looking out the window.

Tabloid Bureau Chief, ZEEK RIDINGS
finally suggested we go with the
story and if it turns out to not be true
lie out of it next week. After a
round of applause and screams
of "Heck BLOGS CAN SAY ANYTHING"
the executive decision to run the story
was made.

The now month old stale facts
are Ms Tucker would join the show as
co host on Mondays only. Naturally she will keep
her day job even though rumor has it
the contract's financial package
mentioned several prized antique
fishing lures and old but still
good BoJangles gift certificates.

More on this cracking story as
it develops.

In 1978 WRJZ (WHO'S GOTCHA NOW) radio
was managed by Ron Hamilton who in just a
few short weeks in the corner office disproved
the old adage "IT CAN'T GET ANY WORSE!"
Hamilton who was affectionately called
"Snake" by the staff was also a member of the
famed WRJZ basketball team. In this
prized photo he can be seen standing flat
footed on the far tight of the picture
with his fist clinched getting read to sucker
punch number 34 in the kidneys. The game was
between WRJZ and Maryville's WGAP, played in
the old armory on Hall Road, Alcoa. Because
it was a military facility the wood floor was
polished to the point where when a player fell
he often slid out the door, down the bank and
into the raging waters of Pistol Creek.

WRJZ both won the game and made bail for
SNAKE after he was caught in the WGAP locker room
with a fist full of wallets and nine TIMEX watches
on his arm.

So sad to hear about Tony Snow.
He did a wonderful job working
for both presidents and could make the press laugh.

A great journalist with a good true
heart is a very hard find. He will be missed!

Ed....Did anyone notice how NBC just gave
his death a short mention? Odd considering how
they spent weeks putting Tim in the ground? Sure
Timmy was one of theirs but Tony Snow so out
shadowed their man. Snow was the FIRST
hired on the FOX network, oh and he also had
worked for TWO Presidents. Still when NBC
managed to say something about his passing
they did it on 60 Minutes and LINKED Timmy to
the obituary.

Here is an obit that many of you may have missed:

'Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't
always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in
charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unrulychildren.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an
abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own
home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, I'm A Victim & I'm gonna sue your a_ _ .

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

Since he is no longer here to participate in our government, schools and churches, may God have mercy on us all.

Ed....Not sure where you copied that

ATTENTION WBIR FOLKS! ATTENTION WBIR FOLKS!

YOU NEED TO TELL YOUR FILL-IN WEATHER GIRL TO STOP SAYING ON THE AIR DURING THE DAMN 11PM NEWS THAT "SOMEBODY CALLED AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE WEATHER." SHE ALSO SAID THIS WHEN SHE FILLED IN FOR WITCHER LAST MONTH DURING YOUR 5 - 7AM NEWSCAST.

NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR YOUR ON-AIR MISTAKES, AND NEVER EVER EVER EVER CALL OUT A VIEWER OR LISTENER ON THE AIR. THAT'S A FUNDAMENTAL RULE OF THIS BUSINESS!!!!!!

PATHETIC!!!!!! AND WHEN SHE FILLS IN ON MORNINGS AGAIN, ALSO TELL HER TO QUIT FLIRTING WITH RUSSEL BIVEN, AND TELL HER NOT TO CALL ED RUPP "EDDIE POOH." THIS IS WBIR TELEVISION, NOT SOME STATION IN THE MIDDLE OF WEST VIRGINIA.

Hey, this weather WOMAN is better than the giggler who was aways a minute away from birth.

If this one gets her hair cut and can stop being scared she could get the
laughing woman's job!

Wonder why wbir can't hire a good looking weather WOMAN? WATE has all the real ugly men in town doing weather and WBIR cornered the women market.

Channel 10 weekend blonde sports girl.

Barf....

I done flipped on the tv at 650p on Sunday 7/20 to TV10 and that long hair blonde blurted out "my daddy told me on the phone this morning that there were no way that a 53 yearold Greg Norman could win the British Open."

Wherefore did Gannet find this person to "broad"cast sports? R her dad on the payroll? Channel 10 has hit a new low. In fact they have dug such a hole, I expect this sports blonde may pop up out of ground in Bejing, China to broadcast the Olympics fer NBC. Oh Lord, please don't let that happen.
